CT Man's Body Recovered From Pond At State Park, ID Released, Officials Say

Police are investigating after a man's body was pulled from the pond Friday night.

TORRINGTON, CT — Crews located a man's body from Stillwater Pond in Torrington on Friday night, according to state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP).

Firefighters recovered the body from the pond at 7:30 p.m. Local police reported the incident to state environmental conservation police, who are handling the investigation.

Authorities identified the body as Stewart Rushlow, 65, of Torrington.

The state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause of the man's death.

The death does not appear to be criminal, according to the statement.
