CT's Coronavirus Positivity Rate Reaches Nearly 11 Percent
The positive test rate was the highest daily rate during the second wave of the pandemic and rivaled figures not seen since the spring.
CONNECTICUT — Connecticut had a whopping 10.72 percent positive coronavirus test rate Tuesday, which is the highest daily rate since the second wave began in Connecticut and the highest daily rate since late May.
Nearly 3,700 new cases were reported along with 31 new deaths. The state has recorded around 20,000 new cases in the past week.
Upward and downward swings in the daily positive test rate have become commonplace, but the nearly 11 percent daily rate was eye-catching Tuesday and a sign that the state wasn’t close to being out of the woods.

Coronavirus hospitalizations saw a slight net increase of 12 patients, bringing the total currently hospitalized to 1,154. There have been minor swings in the current hospitalized figure since early December, but it has stayed mostly stable since then.
