Nearly 2,900 Still Without Power Tuesday In Connecticut

CONNECTICUT — Nearly 2,900 are still without electricity as the power outages caused by Monday afternoon's storm continue into Tuesday.

United Illuminating has restored power to all its customers, but Eversource still has 2,898 in the dark as of 9:00 Tuesday morning.

Gale-force winds and heavy rain began hammering the area mid-afternoon Monday, disrupting power lines and tumbling trees.

Waterford has the most connections yet to be made, with 306 homes and businesses still without power. Thompson and East Haddam follow with 247 and 234, respectively.
