CT Positive Coronavirus Test Rate Hits Another High Mark
Connecticut had an 8.6 percent positive coronavirus test rate reported Tuesday — the highest since widespread testing began.
CONNECTICUT — Connecticut reported a startling 8.65 percent positive coronavirus test rate Tuesday — the highest daily number since widespread testing began in the state. The state also reported another 2,414 coronavirus cases Tuesday.
Connecticut’s positive test rate throughout November was 4.78 percent and it rose to 6.61 percent between Dec. 1 and 6.
Coronavirus-related hospitalizations on Tuesday increased by 40 patients, which was more than the previous three days combined. Current hospitalizations stand at 1,223.

Another 18 coronavirus deaths were also reported Tuesday, bringing the state total to 5,242.
Gov. Ned Lamont said he won’t mandate coronavirus vaccinations once they are approved. He noted it would be several months before there is enough supply to inoculate the general population. The state is aiming for 70 to 80 percent of people to get the vaccine once there is enough supply.
