CT State Trooper Resigns Following Domestic Disturbance Involving Firearm
The trooper had been put on administrative duty after his arrest.

GRISWOLD, CT — A Connecticut state trooper who was arrested last year following a domestic disturbance involving a firearm has resigned.
Edward Gookin, 37, of Griswold, resigned from the Connecticut State Police as of March 5, state police confirmed Wednesday.
Gookin, who faces multiple charges stemming from an incident last August in Griswold, had been on administrative duty.

Gookin’s pending charges include disorderly conduct, illegal discharge of a firearm, risk of injury to a child, and first-degree reckless endangerment.
Court records show his case is awaiting disposition, with his next court date on Sept. 30.
