She's leaving the local Connecticut station for a national role at ESPN.
After nearly nine years at NBC Connecticut, sports reporter Gabrielle Lucivero is leaving the station to become a sideline reporter of WNBA games at ESPN, she announced last week on Instagram.
"11 years and 11 days since I walked into my first day as a local news reporter in Binghamton, NY, I signed off from my local sports job in Hartford, CT," Lucivero wrote on her last day at NBC Connecticut on Friday.
While at the Hartford-based station, Lucivero covered "three Olympics, eight NCAA titles, seven Final Fours, one thousand high school championships."

She also got married, to NBC Connecticut photojournalist Bryan McIndoe, and will continue to call Connecticut home, as ESPN is headquartered in Bristol.
"I’ll be down the road at ESPN and on the sidelines for the WNBA," Lucivero wrote. "& don’t think this means less Olympics content, I’m still obsessed."

Before NBC Connecticut, Lucivero was a freelance sideline reporter for Fox Sports, and has had stints at Spectrum News in Rochester, New York, and Time Warner Cable News in Syracuse.
She grew up in Massachusetts, and obtained her bachelor of science in Broadcast Journalism from Boston University, where she also performed on ice as the school's Boston Terrier mascot.
Fans and members of the NBC Connecticut team wished Lucivero all the best.
"SO PROUD OF YOU!" wrote anchor and reporter Taylor Regan. "No one works harder or is more deserving. We are all so lucky to have witnessed your impact and can’t wait to keep cheering you on down the road."
A fan added, "Sad, that you are leaving NBC CT, but excited to watch you on ESPN!! Congratulations!"
