CT Town-By-Town Republican Senate Primary Results
Leora Levy performed well throughout most sections of Connecticut. Here is how Republicans across Connecticut voted.

CONNECTICUT — Leora Levy prevailed in her bid to become the Republican nominee for U.S. Senate. She performed well throughout most sections of Connecticut and received about 9,700 more votes than moderate candidate Themis Klarides. Levy will face incumbent Sen. Richard Blumenthal, who is seeking a third term.
Lower Fairfield County was a mixed bag. Levy handily won her home base of Greenwich by about 740 votes, according to preliminary results from the Secretary of the State. She also won Stamford by 380 votes and Norwalk by fewer than 100 votes.

Klarides won New Canaan, Darien, Westport, Wilton, Weston and Fairfield. She also performed well in lower Naugatuck Valley; she is a Seymour native and represented parts of Woodbridge, Derby and Orange as a state representative.
Levy outperformed Klarides in most other parts of the state. Preliminarily, she won at least 127 towns.

It’s important to note that overall Republican turnout was 20 percent, and the margin of victory in many towns was narrow; there were 75 towns where the margin of victory was 50 or fewer votes.
Turnout for the 2018 gubernatorial election (also a congressional midterm) was 65 percent. Turnout for the 2020 election was nearly 80 percent, according to the Secretary of the State.
President Joe Biden received 366,000 more Connecticut votes than former President Donald Trump and won the state by a 20 percentage point margin.
Blumenthal easily won reelection in 2016 against Republican Dan Carter. He also beat WWE magnate Linda McMahon in 2010 by more than 130,000 votes and a 12 percentage point margin. Junior Connecticut U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy also bested McMahon in 2012 by a similar percentage point margin. McMahon reportedly spent nearly $100 million of her fortune for both of her failed Senate campaigns, according to the LA Times.
Blumenthal’s campaign has $8.3 million cash on hand, according to the latest Federal Elections Commission filing. Levy’s campaign has about $285,000 cash on hand and $800,000 in debt and loans owed, according to her latest filing.
