Strong Storm To Bring Heavy Rain, 40 MPH Wind Gusts, Thunderstorms Tonight

The National Weather Service released new details on how much snow, rain and wind CT is expected to receive from a strong storm.

CONNECTICUT — It's going to be another interesting storm that includes some snow, heavy rain, strong wind gusts, possible flooding concerns, and thunderstorms.

And like most winter storms thus far this season, snow won't be the star. Though the National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Hartford, Tolland, Windham, Litchfield, and interior sections of Fairfield and New Haven counties, very little snow accumulation is forecast.

Your best bet for decent accumulating snow is in the higher elevations of northern Connecticut, where a few inches of snow is possible before the changeover to plain rain. Most places across the state may see an inch or two of snow and sleet accumulation before the changeover to rain. Areas along the immediate coast will see largely just plain rain.

While the snow may not be significant once again, Connecticut is forecast to receive two inches of rain, 40-50 mph wind gusts and flooding concerns along the coast. And, thunderstorms are also possible late Wednesday.
