Driver Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries In Wolcott Crash: Police

"The vehicle left the right side of the roadway and collided with several trees," police said.

WOLCOTT, CT — A driver sustained serious injuries in a single-vehicle crash in Wolcott, police said.

At 11:40 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to the area of 187 Andrews Road for a reported single-vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, officers found that the operator had been ejected from the vehicle after it struck a tree, police said.

"The preliminary investigation indicates that the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed on Andrews Rd heading towards Clinton Hill when the operator lost control," police wrote in a statement. "The vehicle left the right side of the roadway and collided with several trees."

The operator, who was rushed to the hospital, sustained life threatening injuries and remains in "very serious condition." This accident is still under investigation.
