Winter Weather Advisory Issued For 2 CT Counties: New Details
The National Weather Service has issued new updates on when and how much snow, ice and rain to expect across the state of Connecticut.
CONNECTICUT — The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for both Litchfield and Hartford counties due to the chance of minor snow and ice accumulation.
Many areas in Connecticut may see their first snowflakes of the season Tuesday night, but it should be just plain rain along the I-95 corridor. Inland sections of southern Connecticut may see a brief period of snow and sleet before a quick change over to plain rain.
However, in Hartford County, the weather service said, "Total snow accumulations of up to one inch. Ice accumulations of around a glaze to one tenth of an inch at or above 1000 ft elevation."

In Litchfield County, the weather service said, "Total snow accumulations of up to 1 to 3 inches and ice accumulations of up to one tenth of an inch...Precipitation will begin as snow, then transition to a wintry mix including freezing rain tonight before ending as rain Wednesday."
No advisories are posted for Tolland and Windham counties, but there could be a slushy half inch of snow and sleet late Tuesday, but it should be plain rain by early Wednesday.

The storm should be out of the state by late Wednesday morning.

I-95 corridor towns forecast details via the National Weather Service:
This Afternoon: A 30 percent chance of rain after 5pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 45. East wind around 6 mph.
Tonight: Rain, mainly after 8pm. Low around 37. Northeast wind 7 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
Wednesday: Rain, mainly before 11am. High near 50. Northeast wind 10 to 14 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Wednesday: Rain, mainly before 1pm. High near 49. Northeast wind around 8 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
Northern Connecticut forecast details via the National Weather Service:
Tonight: Rain and snow, becoming all rain after 1am. Low around 32. Calm wind becoming northeast 5 to 7 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Total nighttime snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
Wednesday: Rain, mainly before 10am. High near 46. North wind 6 to 8 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
