'Danbury Cluster,' Farm Housing, Being Watched for Coronavirus
While there is good news to report across most of CT, Gov. Ned Lamont said the DPH is closely monitoring a few new COVID-19 outbreaks.

CONNECTICUT — The state saw an additional 492 positive coronavirus cases since Friday, Gov. Ned Lamont said on Monday.
"That seems like a big number," the governor said, but it still represents less than a 1 percent positivity rate, given the large amount of testing being done. The total number of positive cases is 52,011.
Lamont said he was more concerned with the virus spike in Danbury, which at 7 percent triggered the state Department of Health to issue a COVID-19 alert for the city.

"A lot of that is perhaps related to populations that come in from out of the country," Lamont said.
In addition to what he termed the "Danbury cluster," Lamont said the state is carefully monitoring farm worker housing in Windsor where 30 people living in close quarters have tested positive for COVID-19, and a nursing home in Norwich where one resident has died, and several more have been hospitalized from the virus.

Lamont said he was impressed by the additional 55,317 tests the state has performed since the end of last week. There have been no fatalities attributed to COVID-19 for the past three days in Connecticut, and just three more hospitalizations, bringing the number of people currently hospitalized for the infection to 57.
