Danbury Inmate Charged with Weapon Possession

If convicted of the charge, the inmate faces a maximum term of imprisonment of five years and a fine of up to $250,000.

DANBURY, CT --- The State Attorney and Special Agent in Charge of the New Haven branch of the FBI have announced that a federal grand jury has returned an indictment Wednesday, charging John Faucher, 40, with possession of contraband at the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury.

The indictment alleges that, on March 12, 2018, Faucher possessed a weapon or an object designed or intended to be used as a weapon. If convicted of the charge, Faucher faces a maximum term of imprisonment of five years and a fine of up to $250,000.

U.S. Attorney John H. Durham stressed that an indictment is not evidence of guilt. Charges are only allegations, and a defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
This matter is being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Anastasia E. King.
