Bond, who grew up in New Haven, is the only candidate in the Secretary of the State’s race with the executive experience to lead the office from day one. As Secretary of the State, Maritza Bond will be a catalyst and advocate for democracy and an inclusive, thriving economy. She will bring an unwavering commitment, determined leadership and a record of results to the office of Secretary of the State, at this pivotal time in our history.

“Passing meaningful gun reform and protecting women’s reproductive rights starts with defending our right to vote,” Bond points out, adding that she will also work to support small businesses – and the jobs they bring - by restoring fiscal autonomy to the Secretary of the State’s office,

reviving the small and minority business unit, and collaborating with municipal officials. She supports the Constitutional Amendment, on the ballot this November, that would allow the state legislature to establish a system of early voting in Connecticut, and she will work with local communities to expand voter education and civic participation across the state.

The Bond campaign was informed of the latest endorsement on Friday, the most recent union to announce their support for Maritza Bond’s historic run for Secretary of the State. She would be the first person of color to be elected as Connecticut’s Secretary of the State.
