Food, Music, Art, Cars, Trails, Rodeos And A Bread Fest Fill CT With Fun This Weekend
Connecticut bursts with festivals, food, art, music, rodeos, trail hikes and more during a jam-packed June 6-8 weekend.
CONNECTICUT — From sea chanteys in Essex to sourdough in Stonington, Connecticut is serving up a weekend stuffed with flavor, art, music, and mayhem.
Hartford Taste, a two-day street festival brimming with culinary adventures, experimental art, and live music, takes over Downtown Hartford on Friday and Saturday, June 6 and 7, from noon to 9 p.m. each day. Admission is free.
We're guessing the vibe will be a smidge different at the Farmington Cultural District Live Art Walk on Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. Throughout the day, artists of all ages and mediums will bring Farmington Village to life as they create stunning works of art live for all to see. Stroll along Main Street, explore the artistic process up close, and bask in the overflow of creative energy. Admission is free.

The first weekend in June every year is the largest celebration of trails in the nation, and Connecticut is on it. The small state boasts more than its fair share of wilderness tracks, and Connecticut Trails Day events are free, open to all, and guided by people who are familiar with each site. Events include hiking, biking, horseback riding, running, trail maintenance, kayaking, family walks, educational outings, bird watching, and more for people of all ages, backgrounds, and interests. Or maybe you're more a shoreline kind of guy; Connecticut's got that too, we understand, and this weekend, plenty of people will be singing about it. The three-day 2025 Connecticut Sea Music Festival in Essex begins Friday, and includes a Symposium on the Music of the Sea; free day-time workshops; concerts featuring local, regional, and international maritime performers; a family stage; demonstrations of sailor skills; sails on the Connecticut River; a Sunday morning revival-style hymn sing; and late night Chantey Sings in the Griswold Inn and the Essex Corinthian Yacht Club. If you're more comfortable closer to land, and behind a vintage engine, check out the Connecticut Seaport Car Club’s 9th Annual Antique and Classic Car Show, in Fairfield on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Live bands and DJs will be performing the music of the 50s and 60s, because of course they will be. Rain date is June 15.
Savor New England, promising fresh, seafood flavors and other local bites from New England restaurants and regional vendors returns to the Sun Patio at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville 2 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 7. Tickets are available online here.
If you're in the mood for old-fashioned truck pulls, demolition derbies, quad races, carnival rides, monster truck rallies, live Country music and two (huge) rodeos, saddle up for the Goshen Stampede, June 6 through 8 at the Goshen Fairgrounds. The Litchfield Marketplace craft and vendor fair rolls up onto the Litchfield Green Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., rain or shine. The juried event promises the best quality while across many price points.
And — wait, there's a Bread Fest? Indeed, there is, Bunky, on Saturday in Stonington. The "one day celebration of grains and all that can be created from them" will be held 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the historic Velvet Mill. It will bring together bakers, millers, brewers, and other gluten enthusiasts for a swap of knowledge, ideas, passion, and pumpernickel.
