National French Fry Day Is Wednesday: Where Are Deals (And Best Fries) In CT?

CONNECTICUT — They are the perfect complement to burgers, hot dogs, steaks, chicken or fried fish, and as much a part of summer as ice cream and lemonade. They are French Fries, everybody's favorite side dish, and Wednesday, National French Fry Day, you can score yourself a deal on a plate or bag of pommes de terre frites at a nearby restaurant.

Incidentally, sources say that the fries originated in France or Belgium, and that Thomas Jefferson even had "potatoes served in the French manner" at a White House dinner.
