CT Weather: Heat Wave To Bring Dangerous Temps This Weekend
The heat index could reach 100 degrees, the National Weather Service warned.

CONNECTICUT — The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for the entire state due to a prolonged heat wave that will begin Saturday and continue into early next week.
Friday will include some rain showers and a chance for a thunderstorm in the afternoon. On Saturday, the heat and humidity move in.
For southern Connecticut, the weather service said, "A prolonged period of heat and humidity is expected Saturday into early next week. Heat indices Saturday are forecast to be mostly in the lower 90s, but could potentially reach 95 in a few spots.

"Heat indices then climb into the mid to upper 90s on Sunday, then around 100 on Monday. Heat advisory criteria would therefore be met for Sunday and Monday. The heat and humidity probably continues into Tuesday with heat indices in low to mid 90s."
For northern Connecticut, the weather service said, "Heat Advisories will likely be needed for portions of southern New England on Sunday and Monday with heat indices near 100 degrees."

WTNH News 8 Chief Meteorologist Gil Simmons said, "Happy Friday! Some spotty rain and perhaps an afternoon thunderstorm with high humidity today! Bad hair weather with that humidity going way up this afternoon. Again, it will not be a washout but be ready for a shower or thunderstorm. High temperatures 75 to 80. Get ready for a hot weekend with highs in the 80s and 90s with the heat index around 100° both days!"
