Here's When Heavy Snow Is Expected Today: CT Weather
Near white-out conditions are expected in Connecticut today. Here's the latest on when the heavy snow is expected to fall and how much.

Up to two inches of snow is expected to fall fast and furiously this afternoon as dangerously cold weather descends upon Connecticut sending us into the deep freeze for days.
The National Weather Service has issued several advisories for Wednesday and beyond. The snow squalls are expected between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. and there may be "near white-out conditions," which could impact the commute home from work.
A Special Weather Statement for Southern Connecticut says, "An arctic cold front will pass through the region this afternoon into the early evening hours. This front will be accompanied by a line of snow showers and/or snow squalls that will last around 30 minutes to 1 hour. Brief whiteout conditions with a quick coating to around an inch of snow is possible in any of the heavier snow squalls. Motorists should plan for hazardous travel during the evening commute."

For Hartford, Tolland and Windham counties, the weather service says, "High impact snow squalls expected between 3 and 7 p.m. this evening will result in very hazardous travel... The snow squalls should exit the southeast New England coast by 8 pm. These snow squalls may be quite widespread, resulting in briefly very heavy snow, strong winds, and near white-out conditions.
While snow squalls will last less than 30 minutes in most locations, very hazardous travel is expected during part of the evening rush hour. Snow accumulations of a coating to 1.5 inches
are anticipated, but can not rule out very localized 2 to 3 inch amounts."

For Litchfield County, the weather service says, "Scattered snow squalls are expected this afternoon, mainly between 1 and 6 PM. Expect near white out conditions in squalls with brief heavy snow and blustery winds. Winds may gust up to 40 mph within any squall. Quick snow accumulations of up to an inch is possible. These squalls may impact the evening commute."
And Here Comes The Dangerous Cold Weather
A Wind Advisory is in effect for Southern Connecticut from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. Winds may gust up to 50 mph. In Northern Connecticut, a Wind Chill Advisory is also in effect for tonight and Thursday morning as it may feel like 15 to 25 degrees below zero tomorrow.
Temps will drop to around zero degrees tonight in parts of Connecticut and will struggle to reach 15 degrees on Thursday. Temps will be around zero degrees Thursday night. And if you're curious, there is no snow in the forecast through at least midweek of next week.

Timing out snow squalls later today. Short-lived but fierce. Gusty winds, low visibility, heavy snow and quickly coating up the roads. In and out in only 15-20 mins. Bad timing too - near the commute for some. pic.twitter.com/DLuP3HvvbX
