Hiker Dies After Fall From Cliff In Kent: State Police
The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital, officials said.
KENT, CT — A male hiker died after a fall from a cliff Thursday afternoon, according to state police.
Emergency personnel were sent to the area of St. Johns Ledges on the Appalachian Trail, off of River Road, to find the fall victim. State police, Environmental Conservation police, and emergency medical personnel responded.
William Flood, spokesman for the Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection, said the victim was transported to New Milford Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The fall happened around 2:15 p.m. Thursday.
The victim, identified Friday as 30-year-old Collin Salmon, was rock climbing in the area of the Appalachian Trail and fell, officials said.

The circumstances of the incident are currently under investigation.
The victim's most recent residence is Great Barrington, Massachusetts, though he previously lived in Warren, Connecticut, officials said.
The Office of the Chief State Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death.
