Hour-By-Hour Forecast Of Snow Today, Thursday: CT Weather
There have been some changes to the accumulation estimates and when the snow begins. Here is what you can expect for the evening commute.

Here is the 3 p.m. update on the expected snow that is forecast for tonight and early Thursday. Snowflakes have been flying in parts of the state this afternoon but it's not accumulating. Dry air is blamed for the lack of snow accumulation currently.
It's expected that later tonight, likely after 8 p.m. the snow will stick. Again, this is another nuisance storm that won't amount to much much.
For coastal areas of Fairfield and New Haven counties, a Special Weather Statement has been issued. "As weakening low pressure approaches from the west and a weak secondary low develops off the Mid Atlantic coast tonight, light snow will likely redevelop this evening and continue overnight. The snow could mix with or change to light freezing rain before ending late tonight. Total snow accumulations should be mostly around an inch, with some localized 2 inch amounts possible in the higher elevations and along the Connecticut coast from about New Haven east."

What is also new, is that a Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for the coast of Middlesex and New London counties from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Here two to three inches of snow is expected.
There is no change for northern Connecticut where two to four inches of snow is still forecast.

WTNH News 8 doesn't think this (alleged) storm will amount to much, especially in Southern Connecticut.

Winter weather advisories now up for Southern Middlesex and New London Counties for snow tonight. It's not much, but for most it'll be enough to made roads slick overnight. #WTNHweather pic.twitter.com/c94Dxu2FVI

Meh... not too excited about tonight's snow. A fluffy inch or two in most areas with a chance for higher totals near the Massachusetts border and the quiet corner. #nbcct pic.twitter.com/RFGOCSxPv9

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the entire state except the I-95 corridor or immediate coast as accumulating snow is forecast to fall this evening and early Thursday. The entire state, including the coast, is expected to see some snow on the ground by 5 a.m. Thursday.
The heaviest part of the storm is expected to be late Wednesday into early Thursday. This is good news in that the timeline seems a bit delayed, which means while there may be some light snowflakes falling during the evening commute, most of the heavier snow falls after 8 p.m.
And another silver lining is that the precipitation will remain all snow, so this time there will be no sleet and or freezing rain mixing in.
Here's a look at the forecast and what to expect based on where you are:
I-95 or Connecticut coast: Today: A 30 percent chance of snow, mainly after 5pm. Cloudy, with a high near 27. Wind chill values between 15 and 25. North wind around 6 mph becoming light and variable.
Tonight: Snow likely, mainly between 8pm and 3am. Cloudy, with a steady temperature around 27. Wind chill values between 20 and 25. East wind around 7 mph becoming northeast after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
Northern Fairfield-Northern New Haven-Northern Middlesex- Northern New London-: Total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches.
Hartford, Tolland and Windham counties: Total snow accumulations of around 2 to 4 inches expected.
Litchfield County: Total snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches expected.

CT's weather experts predictions:
WTNH News 8 Meteorologist Gil Simmons says, "Cold weather expected all day today with 20s! Some scattered snow flurries for parts of the state around lunchtime. Steady light snow expected overnight tonight ending early tomorrow. I do anticipate some school delays for Thursday morning. Clearing out Thursday. Another system to watch Friday night and Saturday morning. Followed by another storm later Sunday! "
Current think for Wednesday night's snowfall. Most of this falls after 9 p.m. Wednesday - minor issues at worst for the Wednesday evening commute. #nbcct pic.twitter.com/sY2hJpqWC5

Dry air in place from the surface up to 7000' will keep it from snowing through most of the day. Eventually it will snow and a few fluffy inches is likely overnight tonight. #bufkit #NBCCT pic.twitter.com/1SnDQplkV7

While not a huge storm, tonight's snow may cause some trouble on the roads. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for most of CT with the exception of the shoreline. Looking like a couple inches of fluffy snow. Yes, all snow, no mix! pic.twitter.com/bOUIV4tJIc

Snow will be fighting dry air in CT later today. It'll act as a barrier to keep the snow away for several hours before breaking down this evening. Snow then moves in before midnight and accumulates for a few hours before tapering off. pic.twitter.com/ySaiWGElny
