Hurricane Forecast Updated: Details, Timing Change For CT: Latest Updates
Hurricane Isaias is currently a powerful category three storm, and here is how the storm's remnants will impact Connecticut.
Hurricane Isaias is currently a category 3 storm as it prepares to make landfall in the United States late Friday, and the impacts on Connecticut have changed when it comes to the timeline.
The remnants of Isaias will impact Connecticut sooner than originally expected, with rain beginning sometime after 2 p.m. Sunday, but this means the rain should end early Monday. Originally, rain was expected to last most of Monday.
"The remnants will be in Connecticut by late day Sunday-early Monday with just some rain and no significant wind!" said WTNH News 8 co-chief meteorologist Gil Simmons.

The National Weather Service predicts an inch of rain for the state, with most of it falling between 2 and 3 p.m. Sunday and 8 a.m. Monday.
WFSB 3 TV meteorologists said, "From the Southington Apple Harvest Festival to the Riverton Fair, to leaf peeping… overall, the weather cooperates for outdoor activities! For the Hartford Marathon (full, relay, half, 5k, FitKids run), conditions should be ideal. Under a mainly clear sky and with a calm wind, temps start out in the 40s. Then, reach the lower 60s by early afternoon. Many communities move into the upper 60s by late afternoon.

"Sunday will be a bit cooler given an increase in cloudiness. Also, there will be a rising chance for rain from the afternoon into the evening hours, so plan accordingly. The wet weather is connected to what will be the remnants of Isaias. With the showers now arriving a bit sooner, they’ll exit faster. Because of this, Monday has trended drier with morning clouds giving way to a brighter afternoon. We’re forecasting highs near 70," added WFSB 3 TV meteorologists.
