Lamont Proposes New Gun Legislation In CT: Here's What To Know

The proposal is pending before the legislature.

Gov. Ned Lamont is hoping the legislature bans certain guns that can be converted into a fully automatic weapon, WFSB 3 TV reports.

"Glok-style switches," are already illegal, but the proposed legislation would ban the sale of certain guns that can be converted, which allows pistols to fire up to 1,200 rounds per minute, WFSB 3 TV reported.

Lamont told WFSB 3 TV that "These Glock-style switches are really dangerous, and we have to work with the manufacturers to stop them from being so easy to turn into a machine gun."

Opponents of the legislation told WTNH News 8 that they fear this proposal could inevitably lead to a ban on all pistols.
