Man Killed, Another Injured When Car Strikes Utility Pole In CT

One man was killed and another injured when a car struck a utility pole Thursday evening.

SALISBURY, CT — One man was killed and another was injured when a car struck a utility pole on Route 44 in Salisbury on Thursday, according to state police. A 2003 BMW X5 was traveling eastbound east of Twin Lakes Road at 6:20 p.m. when the driver lost control and hit a utility pole in the right shoulder.

The driver suffered minor injuries and was transported to Sharon Hospital for treatment. The passenger, Jason Titunik, 19, of Sarasota, FL, suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to Sharon Hospital. He was later pronounced deceased.

The car was towed from the scene of the accident.
