Man Wanted For Armed Robbery Crashes Car In CT, Flees: State Police
A man wanted for armed robbery crashed into a utility pole, then fled, leaving two children behind, police said.

BOLTON, CT -- A man wanted for armed robbery in Rhode Island crashed his car into a utility pole in Bolton, then fled the scene of the accident, according to a state police report.
State police responded when a 2011 Subaru Outback hit a utility pole in the area of Brandy Street and Meadow Road in Bolton around 5 p.m. Friday.
The driver, identified as Kyle Fortier, 33, of Windham, fled on foot, leaving three passengers, including two young children, behind.

Pawtucket, Rhode Island notified state police that Fortier was wanted for an armed robbery in their state.
Fortier "has also been known to carry weapons on his person during prior encounters with state police," according to state police.

Following a search by state troopers and K-9s, Fortier was found exiting the woods on Meadow Road.
Police took him into custody without incident.
No injuries were reported.
Fortier was charged with two counts of risk of injury to a minor, reckless endangerment, interfering with an officer, evading responsibility, and failure to maintain proper lane. He also had a warrant out for his arrest for violation of probation.
He was held on a $25,000 bond and is due in court Monday.
