Missing 3-Year-Old Rescued From River In Plainfield

Police found the missing child knee-deep in a river behind the home. They safely rescued the child and reunited them with family.

PLAINFIELD, CT — A missing 3-year-old child with nonverbal autism was safely rescued from a river by Plainfield police on Saturday.

Authorities received a report around 1:50 p.m. that the child was missing from the Moosup section of town. Officers quickly responded, deploying a K-9 unit and requesting assistance from the Moosup Fire Department, according to a police statement.

An officer located the child knee-deep in the river behind the home within 10 minutes of receiving the call.

The child was safely pulled from the river and reunited with their parents unharmed.
