More, Faster: CT Dept. Of Motor Vehicles Upgrades Its Web Portal
The new site increases the number of transactions customers are able to complete online, mong other improvements.
CONNECTICUT — The state Department of Motor Vehicles has upgraded its web portal, again.
The new site increases the number of transactions customers are able to complete online, and affords residents new functionality, including the ability to request a duplicate driver's license, a duplicate non-driver ID, and driving history.
Last month the state added the ability for motorists to renew their driver's licenses and non-driver IDs on the website.

“Our residents deserve a government that is dedicated to changing with new technology and makes transactions as easy as possible," Gov. Ned Lamont said Tuesday. "I am pleased to see these updates happening at such a critical agency, and I look forward to providing more streamlined services to our residents soon."
Following the onset of the coronavirus pandemic early last year, the DMV adopted an appointment-based system which has resulted in a "significant reduction in customer wait times," according to Lamont.

Residents may view all online services or schedule an in-person appointment with the DMV by visiting the agency’s refurbished web portal here.
DMV Deputy Commissioner Tony Guerrera said: "With the onset of the pandemic, customers have become accustomed to having access to services online. Government should not be the exception."
