CT Weather: 1 More Day of Rain And Then A Beautiful Weekend

After days of rain, thunderstorms and flooding concerns we finally receive a break later today and through the upcoming weekend. Summer weather will return just in time for this weekend with sunshine and temps in the upper 70s to 80 degrees.

Before we get to the nicer weather, we have one last shot at showers and rain through Thursday afternoon before the clearing begins.

WTNH News 8 Meteorologist Gil Simmons said "Not as rainy today! Clouds and some breaks of through the middle of the day with temperatures in the 70s. There could be a quick shower moving through this afternoon. I’m expecting nicer weather going into the weekend with temperatures 75 to 82. It looks like Hurricane Florence Will Impact the Carolinas today through the weekend."

As for Hurricane Florence, the storm has thankfully weakened some and is expected to make landfall Friday as a Category 2 storm. Based on Florence's projected path, the hurricane will have zero impacts on Connecticut.
