Most Expensive Counties To Buy A Home In CT — See Where Yours Ranks

Home prices vary widely across Connecticut, with one county far ahead of the rest.

New data from Zillow shows a wide gap in home prices across the state, with one county standing far above the rest.

Fairfield County is the most expensive, with a typical home value of about $656,750 — more than $200,000 higher than other counties.

Next are Middlesex and Litchfield counties, where home values are significantly lower but still among the highest in the state.

At the other end, Windham County is the most affordable at roughly $356,686, followed by Hartford County at about $367,146.

While Fairfield County leads by a wide margin, some of the biggest price increases are happening elsewhere. New London County saw the largest jump over the past year at 5.5 percent, followed by Tolland County at 5.3 percent.

Home values rose across every county in Connecticut over the past year, a sign of continued demand in Connecticut’s housing market.
