Mother Charged With Leaving 2-Year-Old Home Alone: Report

A Wolcott woman has been charged on allegations that she left a toddler home alone.

WOLCOTT, CT — A mother has been charged on allegations that she left a toddler home alone in Wolcott on Thursday night, according to WTNH News-8. Police were dispatched to a Meadow Drive home after a 2-year-old was found wandering in a yard by himself.

Police said the child was wet and crying. No adults were found inside the home.

The child's mother, Amanda Milligan, 28, returned home while police were there. She told police she left her son home alone while she went to Petco, according to WTNH News-8.

Milligan was charged with risk of injury to a minor. She was released on $1,500 bond. DCF has begun an investigation.
