Motorcyclist, Passenger Thrown From Bike In Fatal CT Crash; ID Released: State Police

A motorcyclist was killed and a passenger was seriously injured after a collision with a pickup truck, police said.

GRISWOLD, CT — A motorcyclist was killed and a passenger was seriously injured following an accident Saturday, according to state police.

Troopers were called at 4:31 p.m. on a report of a crash involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck on Stone Hill Road at its intersection with Roode Road in Griswold.

The motorcycle had struck the right side of the pickup truck. The motorcyclist and a passenger had been thrown from the bike and came to rest in the center of the intersection.

The motorcyclist, Nathan Musto, 35, of Voluntown, was taken to Plainfield Backus Hospital and declared dead.

The passenger was also transported to Backus Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

The pickup truck's driver was not injured.

State Police Troop E is investigating the crash.
