NASA Rocket Launch May Be Visible In CT Skies Tuesday: See Where
The Antares rocket may appear in the skies to the southeast, as it heads to deliver cargo and research to the International Space Station.

CONNECTICUT — A NASA rocket launch planned for Tuesday may be visible in Connecticut skies as it takes off from a launch pad in Virginia for a resupply mission to the International Space Station, said NASA.
The Antares rocket will carry supplies to the International Space Station via the Cygnus spacecraft, according to NASA. This 139-foot-tall rocket is manufactured by Northrop Grumman, which is targeting 8:31 p.m. Tuesday for the launch from the Wallops Flight Facility.
“Northrop Grumman’s 19th contracted cargo resupply mission with NASA to the International Space Station will deliver more than 8,200 pounds of science and research, crew supplies and vehicle hardware to the orbital laboratory and its crew,” said NASA.

Weather for the mission is 80 percent favorable, with “the main weather concern” being a slight chance for cumulus clouds, said NASA.
In Connecticut, residents to the east and north are expected to have a line-of-sight view of Antares between 150 seconds and 180 seconds after takeoff. Those in the southern and western areas of the state can better catch a glimpse between 120 seconds and 150 seconds of the launch.
