Nearly $1 Billion Up For Grabs, Powerball, Mega Millions Jackpots Soar

In Connecticut, two $50,000 winning Powerball tickets were sold and a $10,000 Mega Millions ticket was also sold. Check your tickets.

CONNECTICUT — The Mega Millions jackpot for the Friday, Oct. 14 drawing has ballooned to $494 million after no one won the grand prize on Tuesday, Oct. 11, according to the Connecticut Lottery.

In Connecticut, the top prize from Tuesday's Mega Millions drawing was a $10,000 winner as someone matched four numbers and the Mega Ball. All told, the Connecticut Lottery said 11,861 "winning" tickets were sold in the state, which simply means someone won between $2 and $10,000.

Eight tickets sold in Connecticut yielded $1,500 winners, another nine won $600, seven won $500, and 19 won $200. Everyone else won between $2 and $30.

The winning numbers for the Tuesday, Oct. 11 Mega Millions drawing are: 3-7-11-13-38. The Gold Mega Ball was 1, and the Megaplier Multiplier was 3x.

The Powerball jackpot for Wednesday, Oct. 12 is $420 million. On Monday, Oct. 10, two Connecticut residents took home a consolation prize of $50,000 by matching four numbers and the Powerball. The winning Powerball numbers for Monday, Oct. 10 were: 3-6-11-17-22 and the Powerball was 11.

Between the Powerball jackpot tonight (Oct. 12) and the Mega Millions jackpot on Friday, nearly $1 billion is up for grabs.

The Connecticut Lottery said the Powerball drawings occur Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at approximately 10:59 PM. On drawing nights, wagering closes at 10 p.m. and reopens at 11:15 p.m.

The Connecticut Lottery said the Mega Millions drawings occur Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m. On drawing nights, wagering closes at 10:45 p.m. and reopens at 11:15 p.m.
