New Details In Human Remains Case Released
The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System has provided an update on human remains found last month in Killingly.
KILLINGLY, CT — The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System has filed an update on human remains found in Killingly on April 10.
The remains were found in a wooded area off of Woodward Street.
The missing persons database says that the person found was a man estimated to be 25 to 45 years old and 5'8". It's estimated that the man died either last year or this year.

The database notes that the body was a "near or complete skeleton" but the remains were not recognizable. The man's weight, hair color, race, and other features could not be determined.
The news comes as rumors swirl on social media about a possible serial killer due to numerous human remains cases across Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. However, police have not found any link between the cases and have said there's no evidence of a serial killer.

The recent conclusion of an investigation into the death of a Groton woman led to the arrest. Donald Coffel, 68, was charged with murder, tampering with evidence, and improper disposal of a body.

In another case in New Haven, police recently said there were no signs of found play in the death of Denise Leary, 59, who went missing in September 2024. Her remains were found in a wooded area of Rock Creek Road in March in what police termed an "advanced state of decay."

The remains of a woman identified as Paige Fannon, 35, of West Islip, New York, were also found in Norwalk, People reported. Police said there was no indication of foul play in her death.
