Newtown Police Department Project to be Discussed in Public Forum

Officials view the current HQ as too small for the current needs of Newtown law enforcement.

NEWTOWN, CT -- First Selectman Dan Rosenthal has announced that the Police Department project and site selection will be an item discussed at the Special Board of Selectmen meeting on June 26.

In February, the Board of Selectmen named New Britain architectural firm Kaestle Boos to develop plans for a new police station to replace the existing HQ, which officials view as too small for the current needs of Newtown law enforcement.

The firm previously was tapped to design a new roof for the entire Middle School complex on Queen Street in Newtown.
