Next 'Accumulating Snow' Chance Emerges In CT's Weather Forecast

The weekend turns much colder as snow returns to Connecticut's weather forecast. Here's when we may see our next accumulating snow.

This weekend will serve as a reminder that winter is far from over and help set the stage for a possible snow and or ice storm early next week. Connecticut will see one more warm day, Friday, before temps nosedive and the winds pick up Friday afternoon.

The weekend looks to be 20 to 25 degrees cooler than the weather we've experienced this week in Connecticut. And then beginning just in time for the Tuesday evening commute, snow is forecast for Connecticut. Connecticut meteorologists including NBC Connecticut Chief Meteorologist Ryan Hanrahan say that 'accumulating snow' is possible.

As for the present, light rain is likely tonight and on Friday temps will rise into the 50s by noon, but quickly fall and winds could gust up to 35 mph at times.

"Temperatures initially will climb well into the 50s, and then begin to fall by the late afternoon and evening," the National Weather Service says. "The gusty winds will continue through Friday night and into Saturday as much colder air moves into the region. Temperatures by Saturday morning will fall into the upper teens across interior sections, and the lower and middle 20s closer to the coast. Morning wind chills will be down into the upper single digits and lower teens. High pressure will continue to build into the region during Saturday and Saturday night, providing dry and cold conditions."

The weekend will be colder but also dry, and the dry weather continues on Monday before snow may fall Tuesday afternoon.
