Number of Coronavirus Related Deaths In CT Rises Again
After several days of the death rate declining there was a noticeable increase in the number of deaths reported in Connecticut.
CONNECTICUT — The number of positive coronavirus cases in Connecticut increased by 522 to 34,855 and the number of deaths rose by 84 to 3,125. The number of hospitalizations decreased by another 31 to 1,158.
The number of new deaths had been between 30 and 50 for the past several days and it rose again by 84 over a 24-hour period.
The one-day change in hospitalizations includes: Fairfield 372, a decrease of six; New Haven 404, an increase of five; Hartford 296, a decrease of 24; Middlesex 36, a decrease of four; New London 24, an increase of one; Litchfield 18, a decrease of three; Tolland 3, an increase of one; and Windham 5, a decrease of one.

Of the 3,125 reported deaths, 1,856 involve people over the age of 80; 680 are between the ages of 70 and 79; 390 are between the ages of 60 and 69; 127 are between the ages of 50 and 59; 43 are between the ages of 40 and 49; 19 are between the ages of 30 and 39; 4 are between the ages of 20 and 29; one between the ages of 10 and 19; and one between the ages of zero and nine.
