Officer Shoots, Injures Person In Colchester: Police
A police officer shot and injured a person Thursday evening after a reported disturbance. State police are investigating.

COLCHESTER, CT — A police officer shot a person in Colchester on Thursday evening, according to state police.
Colchester police responded at 6:17 p.m. to a report of a disturbance at a Norwich Avenue address.
Police made contact with a person shortly after arriving. A police officer shot the person, resulting in an injury. No one else in the surrounding area was injured, according to state police.

Emergency medical services responded and took the person to an area hospital for treatment. One officer was also taken to the hospital for evaluation.
State police said there is no ongoing threat to the public.

Route 616 was closed between Harbor Road and Sullivan Road but has since reopened, WTNH News-8 reported.
An ongoing investigation is being led by the Office of the Inspector General, detectives from the Connecticut State Police Eastern District Major Crime Squad, and Troop K.
