Popular TV Meteorologist Departs CT Station
She grew up in Trumbull, and has spent the last 15 years in the television news industry.
CONNECTICUT — Lorin Richardson, a meteorologist and reporter at WFSB-TV in Hartford, announced Tuesday that she has left the station.
"I just really want to say I enjoyed my time there - in so many aspects - of course getting to do weather forecasting and reporting on some amazing stories," Richardson wrote on Facebook. "It’s been a profound chapter in my life."
Richardson, who grew up in Trumbull, is a veteran of the television news industry, with 15 years in the business.

Before WFSB, Richardson was with FiOS1News, and has worked in the industry in West Virginia and North Carolina.
Returning to Connecticut was a joy for Richardson, who gave viewers the scoop on the weather on weekend mornings, and reported on news during the weekday evening broadcast.

"From the on camera talent & an amazing weather team to behind the scenes - producers, photographers, directors etc (you name it!) I got to work with some of the absolute best," she wrote. "I also got to connect with so many wonderful weather watchers and people across the state. Thank you to the people I met out on stories - from farms I interviewed and fitness studios to local businesses and fun food segments. As a local girl who grew up in Trumbull - I loved working in my home state and getting to bring people’s stories to life."
As for what the future holds, Richardson said she is unsure, but for the time being, she will be spending more time at home.

"Right now I’ll be focusing on my family and getting excited for baby girl’s arrival so very soon - I definitely will be spending some extra time with my 4 year old son before the baby arrives," she wrote. "I want to wholeheartedly thank everyone for the constant support and well wishes as we are expanding our family.
"And if you see me out and about PLEASE say hi. I am forever a CT girl and I still love weather and will still be looking at the forecast all the time! I promise I’ll keep posting here and also keep you updated on all my future endeavors. Thank you & always try to find the sunshine, no matter what comes your way."
