CONNECTICUT — A ticket for Wednesday's Powerball game sold in Connecticut turned out to be the biggest winner nationwide — a cool 2 million bucks.

A ticket sold in Connecticut matched the five primary numbers, but not the Powerball. The undisclosed player did opt for the PowerPlay kicker, however, and that doubled a $1 million prize to $2 million, according to the CT Lottery.

No other tickets sold in the nation matched all five numbers. The jackpot was $255 million.

The two largest recent lottery winners in CT are a $200,000 winner sold at Waterbury Quick Mart and a $100,000 winner sold at the Torrington Cumberland Farms #4555. Both tickets were sold on Nov. 14 and the $200,000 winner came from the Powerball game and the $100,000 winner from the Pinball Wizard XXVII game.
