Replacement Named For Recently Departed CT Radio Host
Brian Shactman will join Ray Dunaway mornings on WTIC-AM, taking over for Joe D'Ambrosio.
CONNECTICUT — Veteran broadcast journalist Brian Shactman has been named the new co-host of WTIC-AM's morning news radio talk show with Ray Dunaway, replacing recently departed host Joe D'Ambrosio, the station announced Tuesday.
Dunaway and Shactman will host "Mornings with Ray and Brian," weekdays from 5:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on 1080 WTIC News Talk, beginning immediately.
"I have been listening to Ray for years, and WTIC is always my first stop when I get in the car," Shactman said in a statement. "To now be a part of the WTIC team is an absolute thrill. Connecticut – the whole state – is a community. WTIC is a huge part of that community, and I am excited to help people start their day in this great state."

For Shactman, the WTIC gig is a return to Connecticut. He is a former anchor at NBC Connecticut, writes The Laurel, and he also worked at ESPN in Bristol.
Most recently, Shactman was an anchor in Massachusetts at NBC10 Boston and New England Cable News since 2014.

"I’m excited to welcome Brian back to Connecticut to join our morning show program alongside Ray Dunaway," said Stephanie Perl, senior vice president and market manager at WTIC's parent company, Entercom Hartford. "He has a proven track record of entertaining and capturing his audience, and his energy will be a great addition to our show."
D'Ambrosio left the station last month, having grown frustrated with the political climate, and how he could not freely speak his mind, he said.
