See How Much CT Gas Prices Jumped Last Week

Rising oil prices tied to Middle East tensions and seasonal demand are driving the increase, AAA says.

Gas prices in Connecticut jumped 24 cents over the past week, reaching an average of $3.88 per gallon, according to AAA Northeast.

That’s 98 cents higher than a month ago and 88 cents more than this time last year.

The increase comes as oil prices continue to rise amid global supply concerns tied to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

At the close of markets Friday, U.S. crude oil settled at $98 per barrel, while Brent crude reached $112 — its highest level since 2022, according to AAA.

“As the conflict with Iran continues, gas prices are likely to remain under pressure as long as oil prices stay elevated,” said Lauren Fabrizi, a spokesperson for AAA Northeast.
