Snow Storm Forecast Changes For CT: Here Are The New Updates
Sub-freezing temperatures will impact the state later this week, according to forecasters.
Winter lovers who had hoped for a couple of inches of widespread new snowfall later this week may be disappointed.
WFSB 3 TV reports that a potential coastal storm for Thursday into Friday isn’t expected to impact the state. But there may be a round of snow on Saturday, according to forecasters. (More on that snow chance below).
“The ingredients no longer appear to come together in a way that would support an impactful nor’easter (they do so too late, and too far offshore),” WFSB reports.

WFSB meteorologists are continuing to monitor the situation, but the station says “the trend is not a good one for snow lovers.”
Michael Main, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Albany, said Tuesday any development will be out to sea, keeping moisture away from the Connecticut region for the Thursday to Friday timeframe.

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday forecast details and much colder weather arrives
"(Wednesday) won’t be a washout, but you’ll want to have the umbrella handy for isolated showers," WFSB 3 TV meteorologists said. "...As precipitation begins to taper by daybreak tomorrow and colder air begins to overspread the state behind a cold front, we could see a brief switch to snow before it ends. Other than a minor accumulation across the higher terrain of NW CT, snow should not be impactful. Thereafter, while partial clearing gets underway, some flurries are possible as colder air begins to overspread the state."
"Friday is now a *First Alert Weather Day* due to the arrival of Arctic air, accompanied by wind that will make it feel colder. The wind won’t be exceptionally strong, but a breeze in tandem with the cold air will lead to wind chill values going into the single digits --- for some, even below zero! The worst will be experienced early in the day, then during the afternoon the wind begins to subside. Temps that peak in the upper 20s and lower 30s will feel more like 15-25," said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists.(Read more at WFSB 3 TV).
