Soccer, Volleyball, Field Hockey State Tournament Pairings Set

CONNECTICUT — A total of 393 Connecticut high school soccer, volleyball and field hockey teams are set to take the next step toward their quests of winning a state championship, as pairings for the CIAC fall tournaments were announced Friday morning.

In boys soccer, 121 teams qualified for the tournaments; girls soccer had 110, girls volleyball had 108 and field hockey yielded 54. Teams achieving a winning percentage of .400 or better are eligible to participate.

Each of the 15 champions from 2018 qualified for postseason play this year; three of those squads are the top seeds in their divisions.
