Specialty Market To Open In CT With Prepared Foods, Local Products

A business with a Winsted location is opening a second store, offering prepared foods and locally sourced meat and dairy.

COLEBROOK, CT — A new food-focused business is getting ready to welcome customers in Colebrook.

Kelly’s Kitchen Take Two will be at 320 Colebrook River Road, bringing prepared foods and locally sourced products to the rural town. The shop will also have "a handcrafted apothecary offering specialty loose leaf tea blends, tinctures and natural remedies" along with work from local artisans.

Proprietor Kelly McCarthy said that they are awaiting a final inspection and plans to open at the end of January or early February.

The original Kelly's Kitchen opened in Winsted in 2004. The new space will be a "sustainable community hub offering."

The shop will offer a mix of ready-made meals alongside specialty grocery items. According to information shared ahead of the opening, the business will feature prepared foods made with locally sourced meat and dairy, catering to residents looking for convenient options without traveling far outside town.

Kelly’s Kitchen Take Two is also expected to stock a curated selection of products that highlight regional farms and producers, reinforcing its focus on local sourcing. The concept blends elements of a specialty grocery with a takeout-style kitchen, designed to serve both everyday needs and quick meals for busy schedules.

The business will also offer catering and has plans to expand for smaller gatherings like private parties, business meetings, workshops, classes, and more.

Kelly's Kitchen Take Two will be open Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The market will be closed Wednesdays.
