Speeding Car Runs Red Light, Crashes Into Torrington Home

The car reportedly went airborne before striking a Torrington home early Saturday morning, according to reports.

TORRINGTON, CT — A speeding car slammed into a house on Prospect Street in Torrington early Saturday morning, according to FOX 61.

Witnesses said the car went through a red light at the intersection of Prospect Street and Church Street at about 6:15 a.m., WFSB 3-TV reported.

The 2006 Chevrolet Impala became airborne, then lost control, skidding on the road, jumping a curb, and hitting a flagpole. The car eventually came to a stop underneath a Prospect Street home's porch, which was significantly damaged, according to NBC CT.

The driver, a 25-year-old woman, and a passenger were not injured. No one in the home was injured.

No one has been charged yet in the crash, which is under investigation.
