Three Dozen Area Volleyball Teams To Participate In State Tournaments

CONNECTICUT — Three dozen high school girls volleyball teams from Hartford and Tolland counties will be competing for state championships beginning next week, as the CIAC released its four state tournament brackets Friday.

RHAM is the only team from the region which captured a state crown last season, winning Class M. The Raptors are seeded sixth this year.

Bulkeley is the only area team to receive a top seed, ranked first in Class S. Other top 5 berths went to Southington (No. 3, Class LL), Farmington (No. 3, L), Suffield (No. 3, M), Coventry (No. 3, S) and Rockville (No. 5, L).

First-round games are scheduled for Monday, Nov. 6 in Classes M and S, and Tuesday, Nov. 7 in Classes LL and L. Here are the initial matchups involving teams from Hartford and Tolland counties. Click the class headers for complete brackets.
