Toddler Injured In Waterbury Fire Dies
A blaze that killed two people in Waterbury last week has now resulted in the death of a 17-month-old child.

WATERBURY, CT — A fire that killed two Waterbury parents has now also resulted in the death of a 17-month-old toddler, according to The Waterbury Republican-American. Firefighters pulled a man, a woman, and an infant from a three-story house on 3rd Street.
Emergency crews performed CPR on the three people who were then transported to the hospital. The two adults, Alexia Moreno, 25, and Freddie Lawson, 45, died June 29.
Two days later, their son, Nasir Lawson, was declared brain dead. He suffered from smoke inhalation and first-degree burns on his arms and left ear. A machine kept the toddler alive until Monday, when his organs were donated to patients in need at Yale New Haven Hospital, The Waterbury Republican-American reported.

A GoFundMe campaign was started by Destiny Miller, Alexia Moreno's sister.
"I am creating this go fund me because I am getting a lot of feedback on people wanting to help during this tragic time," she wrote. "My sister Alexia, her 17 mo. old son Nasir, and his father were in a disastrous house fire in their apartment in Waterbury. Our families are at lost for words as we continue to lay them to rest peacefully and in spirit. Not only we’re young lives lost but a family was, leaving us in upmost disparity. Alexia was a kind hearted, housewife, who took care of her son Nasir and his father due to him having poor health conditions prior to tragedy. Sadly, we had to come to these terms but spiritually I know they are together as a family and they will be missed always and forever."
