State DMV officials are warning residents to look out for these scam text messages currently circulating in Connecticut.
HARTFORD, CT — The state Department of Motor Vehicles warns residents to look out for scam text messages currently circulating in Connecticut.
In a Facebook post Friday, DMV officials said scam text messages about unresolved traffic citations are currently circulating throughout the state.
The DMV also provided a sample image of the scam texts, which can be viewed here.

According to the DMV, these messages are fraudulent as the department does not notify residents about the status of unpaid violations through text messages.
Anyone who receives these types of messages is asked to ignore and delete them, according to the DMV.
