Untimely Death Probed In Harwinton: State Police
An individual was found deceased Sunday near a bridge on Hill Road, rescue personnel said.
HARWINTON, CT — A deceased person was found and recovered Sunday night off of Hill Road, officials said.
State police, who are investigating, said Monday the incident has been classified as an untimely death, with no criminal aspect.
The Harwinton Volunteer Fire Department said it was asked to respond to Hill Road, or Route 222, around 9:45 p.m. Sunday for a report of an unconscious person.

The location is near a bridge that spans Leadmine Brook, officials said. Thomaston fire, ambulance, and police personnel were on scene initially because the exact location was unknown and thought to be in Thomaston.
Thomaston personnel found the individual, who was deceased, in steep terrain on the bank of Leadmine Brook, fire officials said.

Harwinton fire officials provided lighting and equipment to help get the victim out of the location. The person, who officials did not yet identify, was then transported to the Office of the Chief State Medical Examiner.
While Hill Road was closed for several hours during the recovery operation, it has since reopened to normal traffic.
