Avon CT resident, Richard Lublin, to appear in a new feature film: The Land of Steady Habits.

Avon, CT: March 31, 2017 — Going from attorney to actor might seem like a stretch, but when Richard Lublin retired from law, his friends in the entertainment industry didn’t see it that way. In fact, they offered Richard numerous roles in television and film, and he’s been acting in the industry ever since.

This year, Richard is performing in a new feature film: The Land of Steady Habits, written and directed by the well-respected Nicole Holofcener. (Prior films: Friends with Money & Enough Said)

Set in the affluent towns of Connecticut, the film focuses on the journey of Anders Hill, played by Ben Mendelsohn, a man in his mid-fifties who has just retired. Deciding he’s settled long enough for a life of steady habits, he leaves his wife, played by Edie Falco, and moves out. Then he waits for the freedom of retirement to transform him. Richard Lublin plays the role of Hill’s friendly neighbor, and has dialogue with the leading actor in several scenes, as Anders laments about the changes he’s experiencing along his journey.

Lublin’s legal and acting careers merged in 1998, when he first landed roles as an attorney in The Practice and Ally McBeal. In the late 90’s, he played featured roles as a judge on Law & Order. Richard also had supporting roles on highly popular television shows like —Chicago Hope, Frasier, Rescue Me, Married with Children and the HBO series, Luck.

Richard’s last movie role was in the highly acclaimed Sidney Lumet film: Before The Devil Knows You’re Dead. He appeared in various scenes and had dialogue with noted actors Albert Finney, the late Philip Seymour Hoffman and Ethan Hawke.

Richard Lublin resides in Avon, Connecticut. He is member of the Screen Actors Guild and American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA).

Netflix has announced it will finance and distribute the film to theaters, nationwide.
