Avon Dollars for Scholars Receives Donation from Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage

The Avon office  of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage recently donated $300 to the Avon Dollars for Scholars fund to establish a Named Scholarship for college-bound students. The donation was made through the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Cares Foundation, the company’s charitable arm.

“We are happy to be able to help the young people of Avon pursue their educational goals,” says Jane von Holzhausen, Office Manager of the Avon office of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage. “With college costs escalating, many students will seek assistance to pay tuition and other costs associated with higher education. Avon Dollars for Scholars is a wonderful volunteer-run organization that helps local students realize their dreams of higher education.”

“We are grateful to Coldwell Banker and the other local businesses that understand the value of supporting our students,” says John C. Carmon, President of Avon Dollars for Scholars. “Our organization currently is seeking scholarship funds to help young Avon residents who will graduate from high school this June – regardless of which high school they attend – and we welcome contributions from local companies and individuals alike.”

To be eligible to apply for funds from Avon Dollars for Scholars, students must be residents of Avon, regardless of which high school they attend: public; private; magnet; parochial; or technical school. Most of the scholarships awarded are based upon financial need and merit, but some are given to students who display exceptional levels of community service and academic achievement.
